Under a Master Service Agreement (MSA) with ARCO, an extensive reconditioning program was performed over several years to repair or replace flowline and well line systems. The bulk of the work was related to address internal and external corrosion of the multiphase pipelines.  Reconditioning work consisted of insulation removal, pipe cleaning, inspection and ultimately repair or replacement of the pipe.

For flowline replacements such the 24″ Common Line 9E, work consisted of decommissioning, demolition, steam cleaning, disposal and replacement with new epoxy coated pipe.  When the pipe was internally coated, the field welds were then internally coated using a remote controlled internal blasting and coating unit.  Over time the lines were replaced using instead, a duplex stainless steel design which introduced automatic welders and new weld procedures that were not previously used on the North Slope.  CONAM was responsible for several innovative, time-saving tools and execution techniques on the project.
