The work scope entailed winter season take-up and demolition of 2.5 miles of 30″ Crude Transit Line and 3.7 miles of 12″ Seawater Injection Line pipe.  The second phase required cleaning of a large quantity of large-bore crude oil, produced water and seawater injection pipe for salvage disposal.

The cleaning phase required CONAM to develop an inovative engineered solution consisting of a hydraulically controlled 3″, 60 lf long lance that moved through the pipe for cleaning.  The covered and heated cleaning structure had to be environmentally designed to capture and processed oil/soap/water byproduct for well injection disposal.
